About Stuart
Stuart was born in the UK, and has lived in Australia since 1996. He has worked with many leading orchestras and chamber ensembles in both countries including the Hallé Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Orchestra of Opera North, Welsh National Opera Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Melbourne, Sydney and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras and last but by no means least Orchestra Victoria. Stuart's first-ever season with OV was 2001’s Tristan and Isolde conducted by Simone Young: he was a regular guest from then on, before being appointed as Principal Double Bass in 2017.
